I thought I would share some of it with all of you, since some of her are her friends. Amanda is in Germany now and is having a good ol' time.

"Man I thought that flight to Germany would never end. From O'Hare Chicago it took eight hours and fifty minutes just to get to my final destination. I didn't get any sleep on the first or second flight at all....As usual the take-offs were exciting but I felt really nauseous for some reason. I think the reason was because I was flying out to a new part of the world that I'd never been to. Also I was on the verge of tears due to the fact that I was leaving my friends behind...The plane played two movies, "Ice Age Meltdown" and "October Sky"; very good movies. I almost fell asleep except the turbulence prevented that from happening...Before the landing thought we were allowed to move up to the first row in first class. Man those seats were comfortable! We then boarded a bus that took us to baggage claim where we collected our luggage and one escort fetched our parents; my mom was one of the first...About halfway to Ramstein Mom showed me that most of the green garden-like fields were vineyards and there are a lot as far as the eye could see. To top it all off there is green everywhere even on the mountaintops. I saw a glimpse of a castle. That was so cool...our house is only 3 hours from PARIS! We can take a trip pretty much any weekend we want. Mindi, I'm so glad to be in Germany but I miss you dearly and look forward to your responding letter..."
